Pallet Racking Systems

Pallet racking is one of the most efficient, safe and secure ways to store products. However, there are some who may not be entirely familiar with the basics of these systems and their unique benefits. Let us take a closer look at pallet racking and why so many businesses opt for this type of storage.

The Pallet Rack Itself
There are two main purposes for a pallet racking system. The first (and most obvious) is to store the pallets and products themselves for retrieval at a later date. These racks are easily accessible and quite stable. Secondly, pallet racks are made of durable materials and are critical when high-volume applications are required; the operator can quickly and efficiently access products during the logistics process.
Upgrading When Necessary
Pallet racks are also modular by their very nature. This is important for two reasons. First, the owner of a facility can make the best use of the space available. When demand increases or more products are produced, the number or size of these racks can be increased. This is accomplished quickly through a series of firm connectors, joints and locking pins.
Variants of Pallet Racks
Just as the needs of no two facilities are alike, Greenoaks is happy to provide a number of different pallet racking solutions. While wide-aisle systems are considered standard, smaller units of only 1350 millimetres are available for smaller spaces. Alongside variations in size, our pallet racks boast additional upgrades when appropriate. These include timber decks, mesh racks (for smaller products), frame protectors and secondary support systems.
Safety in Mind
Pallet racks need to be able to support significant static loads. So, it is common for anti-collapse systems to be used within their design. If there is a danger of the product falling or tipping over, gridded screens can be fitted to the exterior.
This is only a general introduction to some of the main features of the modern pallet rack. If you would like to enjoy these benefits, please feel free to give us a call at Greenoaks and speak with one of our qualified representatives.
